A dynamic and respected organizational leader and coach, Markus Essien has over 20 years of leading and consulting with innovative organizations to support their strategic goals and grow high-functioning teams. Markus holds a BA in Classics from Howard University and an M.Ed. in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Most recently, Markus was the longest-serving head of school at the Logan School for Creative Learning. As a consultant, his clients and collaborators have included PBS, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and the World Leadership School. Markus started as a member of a Focused Group in Colorado and was inspired to join the company when he moved to upstate New York in 2024.

He serves on the boards at The Village LTD and Financial Aid Navigator.

Beyond coaching, Markus works as a First Assistant Director (1st AD) on independent feature films and as a documentary filmmaker.
