As a member of our Focused Groups, you will have the opportunity to join our Executive Travel Program. Each year, Focus Cloud provides world-class, professional travel management to facilitate the opportunity to meet and learn from other business leaders from around the world. Our mission is to provide the most educational, enlightening, and fulfilling travel experience for our group members.
In 2005, award-winning New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman demystified our often-bewildering new world through his book “The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century”, allowing us to make sense of the global scene unfolding before our eyes. Friedman has a unique ability to translate complex foreign policy and economic issues. This amazing book explains how the world’s flattening happened at the dawn of the twenty-first century and what it means to countries, companies, communities, and individuals. Friedman also explains how governments and governments and societies must adapt to survive. It is clearly an example of why he has become one of our most respected journalists.
Business travel provides opportunities for business leaders to develop relationships with a more extensive network, learn from industry professionals across the globe, and increase sales. Whether a company is a global enterprise or not, business leaders are dedicating more time and money to travel because they believe that business travel is crucial to company growth.
From 1997 through 1999, I attended the owner/president management program (OPM) of the Harvard Business School (HBS). It is similar to Harvard’s advanced management program (AMP), but it is divided into three weeks a year over three years. The result is the ability to get to know each other quite well and reinforce these friendships and relationships. Many of my classmates were business leaders from outside the United States, and they have had a significant and positive impact on me personally and professionally.
Over the last 23 years, this group of individuals has chosen to get together somewhere in the world hosted by one or more former classmates. Recent reunions include locations like Switzerland, the UAE (Abu Dhabi in Dubai), Oman, and India (Mumbai in Hyderabad). These reunions have facilitated lifelong professional learning. Our 2020 reunion was to have taken place in Riga, Latvia, and Saint Petersburg, Russia. Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine has negatively impacted that decision.
These business school reunions are the inspiration for our future trips.
