John has more than 45 years of experience in business working for IBM, and as an entrepreneur and business owner. John holds a BBA from Kent State University and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace University. He also completed a three-year Owner/Manager Program (OPM28) at the Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Most recently, John served as Vice President for the Planned Giving Business Unit of the American Cancer Society, where he implemented a strategic planned giving program through seventeen planned giving directors in a fifteen-state region.
John also serves as a board member for The Urology Center of Colorado (TUCC) Foundation. He been selected to serve as a stakeholder on one of the American Cancer Society’s Extramural Research Department’s 19 peer review committees alongside some of the country’s best cancer research scientists and health professionals. The role of American Cancer Society stakeholder is to ensure that the voice of the cancer patient is not lost during very technical scientific discussions and funding decisions.
He is member of The Rotary Club of Denver “Club 31” and serves as treasurer of the World Community Services (WCS) committee, and is chair of its Inspirational Moments committee.
John is the proud father of four children – three daughters and one son – as well as two grandchildren.
Carlin’s background in technology, security, operations, and management give him a well-balanced approach to solving business problems and maximizing Return on Investment (ROI). Having worked for some of the most rapidly growing technology and solutions companies in the world, Carlin and his teams have developed hundreds of business leading solutions including; digital transformation, workforce productivity, IT simplification, business automation, customer service, and market expansion.
A consultative approach has been the mainstay of Carlin’s methodology ever since leaving corporate employment in 2006. Carlin’s focus on people, process, and technology allow him to improve operational efficiency and help businesses modernize their workplace. His methods and techniques are industry leading and high leveraged by Focused Clouds’ clientele.
You can find Carlin as an active member in the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) organizations in Colorado. He founded and oversees the ever-expanding GDPR/Privacy MeetUp. Carlin also holds an active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certificate from ISC2.
Jeff is collaborative by nature and enjoys working with clients to design the most effective and efficient solutions that align with and support the client’s risk posture. He has been working in information technology for over 25 years and has focused on security for the last 15. Practical experience in the security trenches translates into solid and manageable security solutions for our clients. It’s about finding the right mix of tools and processes to address risk at the appropriate cost point.
Jeff loves golf and spending time hiking in the beautiful Colorado mountains. He is the proud father of two beautiful and successful daughters.
He is known for his energetic and passionate approach to lead with service, humility, and integrity as central tenets to an organization’s awareness, authenticity and success. Patrick uses these experiences to advise executives, employees, and stakeholders on innovation and rapid growth. His dynamic background and experience create a unique skill set to lead performance, build collaborative relationships, and meet the evolving needs of a highly-challenged and ever-changing nonprofit environment.
Prior to joining Focused Cloud, Patrick served as Executive Director of the Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where he helped secure over $50 million for operating support, international talent acquisition and capital expansion. Patrick co-lead a team in the launch of the Gates Biomanufacturing Facility, the first current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) facility in the Rocky Mountain Region. Patrick has held senior level positions with the American Cancer Society, the University of Colorado at Denver and the New Jersey Performing Arts in Newark, NJ. Patrick serves on the boards of the Brent Eley Foundation and Generations Cancer Foundation, and he volunteers with City Year Denver, CASA and the ARC of Weld County.
Patrick is an accomplished classical musician and enjoyed a 15-year professional music career, during which he held positions with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, Nebraska Chamber Orchestra, Denver Symphony Orchestra, and Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Patrick’s music career included performances with numerous international legends, including Placido Domingo, Itzhak Perlman, Sid Cesar, Tony Bennett, Joshua Bell, Yo-Yo Ma, John Williams, the Moody Blues, Mannheim Steamroller, Bobby McFerrin, Judy Collins, and Ray Charles.
As an amateur ultra-endurance athlete, Patrick has competed in several dozen trail running competitions on three continents, including the Leadville Trail 100 in Leadville, CO, the Fuego y Agua Endurance 100k in Ometepe, Nicaragua and the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc in Chamonix, France. Patrick lives in Denver, Colorado and is the proud father of his son, Christopher, who was accepted into the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Engineering and Applied Science in 2019.
